July 01, 2015
Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda has once more rekindle hopes of a continental ticket amongst its fans with a hard earned victory over New Stars of Douala in Bamenda on Sunday June 28. Yosa had to come from behind to overcome the visitors who had taken the lead at the 34thminutes through Baba Basile following an enticing delivery by dead-ball specialist, Ashu Tambe.Awono Junior restored parity at the 67th minute when Nkambfu Gilbert found space through a well marshaled New Star defense with a through header inside the box to set him face with the keeper Gwot kalati Jean who was helpless to stop his attempt at goal. Four minutes later, it was still the same Nkambfu who created space inside the box and pick out an onrushing Kongnyuy Jude who made sure Kalati was beaten at his near post for the second time. These goals were greeted with wild scenes of celebration by the home fans who were all stunned when New Start took the lead. A victory which moves them 2 places up to seveth from ninth on 31 points, the same number of points with Panthere, Union and Lion Blesse.
